us recognize and honor the hard work of many
from the participating communities
and
Join Us for Free Brockton ROX Baseball
This
years celebration will take place at
Campanelli Stadium,
Brockton, before the
Brockton ROX
baseball game on Tuesday August 7, 2007, and is hosted by The Partnership For Safer Communities which
is made up of representatives from Abington, Avon,
Bridgewater, Brockton, East Bridgewater, Easton,
Holbrook, Randolph, Stoughton , West Bridgewater and
Whitman.
The
event will kicked of with a parade/motorcade down
Belmont St to the stadium. The Parade is led off by
color guards from the Mass. Department of Corrections. There
will be Police Cars,
Motorcycles, and bicycles from all the towns as well
as from the Mass State Police, Massasoitt Police,
Stonehill College Police, and the V.A. Police. There
will be a Brockton Fire Truck and response vehicle, an
Ambulance from A.M.R. Also
in the parade will be vehicles donated by
Lynch’s
Towing of Brockton, on this truck will be
McGruff the
Crime Dog and
K.O. the Mascot from Down Under
representing the Brockton ROX.
The
event features booths with crime prevention, health
and safety information. Some of them being, W.I.C.
(Women, Infants and Children), Habitat for Humanity,
The Brockton Police Child Seat Safety Program, Key
Club, Latin American Health Inst, Head Start, Crime
Watch, Fire Prevention, V.A. Police, the Weed & Seed
Program through the D.A.’s Office, and many others.
Ronnie Lippett, formers Defensive Lineman for the N.E.
Patriots will be on hand autographing pictures. There
is also a pie eating contest and a watermelon seed
spitting contest.
The
event starts at 3:00pm and anyone that is present
before 5:30pm gets to stay and watch the Brockton ROX
game for free. After 5:30 check in with the ticket
booth for free tickets while they last.
The
towns have gotten together for a number of years to
celebrate the event together and each town uses the
opportunity to give an award to someone from their
community who has done something positive and that has
had an effect on their individual towns.
